Lt Cdr Rich Watsham receives the DSA Royal Navy 2020 Prize

On Friday 30th April Rear Admiral Rhett Hatcher, UKHO's Director Data Acquisition, presented Lt Cdr Rich Watsham with the DSA 2020 Royal Navy prize and certificate. The presentation had to be delayed from last year after the DSA Annual Seminar was cancelled due to COVID-19. However, Captain Pat Mowatt RN ensured that a real sense of occasion was created at the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) for the presentation.

Rich, a Hydrographic, Meteorological and Oceanographic specialist now based at RNAS Culdrose was recognised for his outstanding work in improving the way maritime geospatial data is delivered and exploited in support of RN operations.

Rear Admiral Hatcher said that "Lt Cdr Watsham had done great work in ensuring the geospatial data from the UKHO, so vital to the awareness and decision making across the breadth of Royal Navy and Defence operations, gets to those that need it., when they need it."
